Happy Thanksgiving!

Late yesterday, Simon was showing me a shell, shark tooth and smooth rock collection thingy that he made. Sydnee jumped in and said the pieces of broken shells were hers. Well he swore up and down that wasn't the case. And with as many shells and pieces they have, I had no idea. After her arguing the fact, he finally said something to make me think she was right. Sure enough he told me he lied. When I started talking to him about the lie, he got so upset. I think he was more upset because he lied than anything. I'll bet it took him an hour to get himself back together and ready to be with us in the livingroom. He was a mess. But I think it hit him how much of a lie it was. Not that it was anything terrible, but that he did it. And that he basically told on himself.
The day is starting slow. We are going to see Mike's family at 6pm. So we have a lot of time between now and then. Mike is working until 3, so I will finished more laundry. I have managed to get more laundry washed, dried and folded. Straightened my closet, sorted clothes winter/summer, and took pictures of Sydnee and her room.
She is quite unique in her cleaning abilities. You can see what I mean for yourself. She collects trash for one thing. So there is a plastic container (that is trash) and she has packed it with more trash. But she is keeping it just in case she can make something out of it. She has told me that she doesn't collect trash, she recycles. Hmmmm, another way to look at it I guess.
She made up her bed. And the thing you can't see is the sample carpet square that is under the stuffed animals. They are all sitting on it together and covered with the comforter.

Another unique thing she does is tie anything that has length to it to something else that can make it longer. In this case she ties different strings, cords, etc together and then tied one end to her dresser handle and another to her upper shelf. Now she strung the inbetween part over her ceiling fan. Then she attaches things to it. A bike horn, small keychains, etc. And she is so proud.

And last but not least (it's only noon), she puts on her moon shoes and walks around the house. She will use them like they are her shoes instead of what they are intended for.

Don't these look just lovely?

Does Sydnee know how to do string games? I bet she'd like them...you know, Jacob's ladder, Cat's Cradle, and such...Gavin learned one the other day and I could only remember how to do the cup and saucer. So I looked some up on line and the kids have been having a blast with them. They've been carrying around their strings everywhere.
