Peanut Butter Kids

Both kids had dentist appointments today to get their 6 mo checkups. Both hygenist told me this was the best visit yet. So that was great news. They actually let them complete the entire check with no issues. Simon's told me he never grabbed her hand once. He is usually pushing her away during something she does. I was thrilled. They both received full meal coupons from Red Robin restaurant. So we ate there for dinner since we had scouts and we'd be grabbing something anyway.

While in the restaurant I couldn't help but think there was a full moon. Every child in there was throwing a fit about something. You could see the face on every parent in there scrunched up telling them to "stop it" or "you better straighten up". For once, mine were sitting there eating politely and without me fussing at them. It really felt wierd for it to not be my kids for once. They ate like horses and I will have to say I really liked the food.

Simon had Cub Scouts tonight. They were making pine cone bird feeders with peanut butter and seed. Wow what a mess, but they sure had fun. Just picture 7 first grade boys with peanut butter up to their elbows for one hour. They were covered! But the job got done.

Mike came home from work tonight and mentioned looking at Disney packages. I was shocked. This is the last place I ever thought he would even consider for a vacation. So for those of you out there that planned ahead, let me know what to do. I know there are deals out there, you just have to know where to look. I have heard that staying on site is the way to go. So I am guessing that is a good route to take. I prefer to fly. I really don't enjoy that many hours in a car. Gulf Shores was long enough for a car ride for me. But more than that takes you into night hours, etc. So I would rather fly. If you're staying on site, that would be good anyway. No need for a car.

Oh I forgot to mention that earlier today I had water leak around the kitchen faucet. Then I heard water dripping under the sink. So I pulled out the garbage can and a couple of bottles under there to see where it was. During this process, I find a jar of honey roasted peanuts that I had been looking for since coming home from retreat earlier this month. I knew I had brought them back home, but couldn't find where I had put them. So I kind of gave up and just figured they were lost in the pantry somewhere. Oh no....I was talking to Mike on the phone later and mentioned this to him. Sure enough he had hidden them, but forgot he put them there. He was hiding them as his "stash". Yep, my husband is hiding the peanuts. It's funny because whenever we buy chocolate the kids always tell me to hide it from Daddy or it won't be there long. They know you can't keep anything around there for long if he likes it.
I have finished my pot of mash potatoes. The kids have their Thanksgiving Day at school tomorrow. Each family is supposed to bring a crockpot of the specified food to school. The kids will have plenty to eat I think. I am
in charge of mashed potatoes. Good night, I am pooped!

Ooooh! Disney!!! We loved staying at the resorts and it seems they have some that are quite reasonable. Flying would definitely be better. And if we ever go again, we will definitely get the meal vouchers...we didn't last time because we thought they were way too expensive. But when we got there, we speant way more on food than the cost of the vouchers and ate less than we would have if we had gotten them.
