Again, there is never a dull moment around here. Last night I fell asleep around 9:30 which is so unlike me at all. But I couldn't hold my eyes open and decided to just give in. About 1 or so Mike came to bed after getting home from work. We layed there and talked for quite a while. For some reason I was wide awake. Around 2am or so, my phone rang. We couldn't imagine who it was. But it turns out to be my best friend Jill. I could tell by her voice that something wasn't right. She asked me to come over because Paul was having chest pains and would get hot and cold. I got there and he didn't look good at all. I asked her if he had taken an aspirin yet and they didn't have any. So I ran home to get some and of course couldn't find them. I ran back and shortly after we heard the ambulance coming. I went out on the porch and realized up on this hill (mountain as Simon calls it) we can hear them coming from miles away. They finally got there and we asked them to turn the lights off so it wouldn't wake up her kids. We didn't want to scare them.
They checked him out and basically said everything was normal. He said the pain was now a 3 from a 7. His color was better, but he was still shaking from head to toe. I was really surprised at how lax the ambulance crew was. It was obvious that he wasn't just imagining the pain and the way he felt. In the end the crew left and Jill took him to the hospital. I stayed with the kids. They have admitted him for observation. So far they say it isn't his heart or gallbladder, but are going to keep looking. Jill came home to get some sleep and I am waiting for another call. He was so pale when I got there and then he got a little color back before he went to the hospital. Jill did say he was on a monitor and everytime he would have the pain, it would show his heart rate going up. So they can see there is something going on. I just pray it isn't anything complicated.
