The kids went with Mike to the lake over the weekend while I worked a crop on Saturday. I'm sure their bedtime routine wasn't the best, just because it's so hard to stick to it when you're having fun and in a different environment. But at 1am this morning Simon was up and wide awake. He couldn't sleep at all. There was no soothing him back to sleep. After 45 minutes I told him to get his blanket and curl up in the recliner and I would go on the loveseat. I of course fell asleep in 2 minutes flat, but I have no clue how long he laid there. At 4am, he woke me up saying he still couldn't sleep and he wanted to watch cartoons. When I told him there weren't any one and we weren't going to be watching tv at 4am, he went ballisic. He was furious with me and there was nothing I could do to calm him down. He screamed and yelled at me at the top of his lungs for over 30 minutes straight with no break. I made him go in his room and again he was furious. He laid in there hysterically screaming "I want to watch cartoons". He was a mess. I can't believe Mike and Sydnee didn't wake up.
Then to top it all off, Sydnee finished her breakfast and then ran to the trashcan to throw up. About that time Simon was up again bouncing and he started it all over again. 45 more minutes of dramatic crying because he couldn't watch cartoons. So I called school to let them know they wouldn't be in. There was no way I was going to send him to school like that. He would have been nothing by chaos. I had to reschedule his orthodontist appointment too. Not a good time at all. Sydnee woke back up around 11 and said she was feeling much better and she wanted to go to school. So she got ready and out we went. She told me she was throwing up the devil this morning because last night she was so nasty to me. She had prayed quite a bit about it. Mike just called at 1:30 to tell me that Simon was still asleep and he was going to get him up and dressed so we could hook up for the trade off.
And my dentist wondered why I was grinding my teeth so hard at night. Hmmm, I wonder.....
