Scout night

Tonight was Simon's Tiger Cub awards night. And just as we walked in I realized that no one had told me about it being "promotion night". They failed to tell me that I was supposed to pick up the bear hat and kerchief. So here we stood with nothing to give t him. 3 out of 4 of us weren't told. Hmmm. But I will have to say that I was very proud of Simon in how he handled it. When he realized he was going to lose it, he asked me if we could leave the room. We were able to leave for a bit and talk it out. That was a huge thing for him to do. I just kept praising him. When we left the restroom after talking, he said "Mom, I know we can't get the hat and kerchief tonight because the scout shop is closed". I just gave him a big hug.

Mom was at church with Sydnee to get her paperwork turned in to transfer her to the SECC group. I couldn't be in two places at the same time. What a huge help that was. Of course they have a waiting list, so I am just praying that we can get the transfer. We have been driving back and forth to Simpsonville for 2 years for her current squad.
