Simon Gets Braces

It just so happened when Simon was told he would be getting braces that he told me he thought his teeth looked like "donkey teeth". I have no idea where he got that from, but he has told everyone he knows that he thinks this way. So onward with the appointment to get his donkey teeth worked on.

I picked Simon up from school today to go get his braces put on. He now has 4 upper brackets on the front. Once another tooth comes in, they'll add one on there too. But it's barely in and not enough to add it yet. It didn't really take them long to x-ray, take a bunch of photos and put the brackets on his teeth. I was very proud of him while this was being done. Simon doesn't do well with things in his mouth if it isn't food. He gags very easily. And I don't mean just gag....it will come on out! So you have to be careful. But all was well and I was very proud of him doing so well. We have made a big deal out of this great thing called braces so he wouldn't feel awkward. His teacher even kept telling him how cool it was to have them. So he is grinning from ear to ear. And he can't wait to take a toothbrush to school for after lunch.
