Strep rears it's ugly head again

I picked up the kids from school yesterday as usual. I had to pick up the Market Day order, so I went inside to get them instead of waiting in car pool. After that we went directly to the office instead of going home because Simon was to have his Blue and Gold Banquet with Cub Scouts at 6:00. Sydnee didn't seem like she felt well and when we got to the office she asked to lay down on the air mattress. She wasn't there 5 minutes and she was asleep. About 5:00 she came into the room I was in and had a funny look on her face. Well it wasn't really a funny look, but definitely a different look. About that time she started gagging and here it came. I felt her forehead and sure enough she was hot. So I made a phone call to see if I could get someone to take Simon to his banquet. Within an hour her temp was 102.8 and vomiting. Then I noticed there was blood in it. That can be very scarey. After going to the doctor today she was diagnosed with Strep. So all day she has battled fevers and vomiting. And each time it had blood in it. The doctor told me it was because she had heaved so much. Her fever goes down and then she is very active, but then it heads back up and she lays on the couch and sleeps. I remember when one of my nephews was very small he would do that. Up and down, awake and asleep. I am tired from checking her every two hours. So I see an early night tonight.

When I was checking on Sydnee last night, Simon wanted to be held. When I did I found that he had a rash on his legs, trunk, back and arms. At first I was concerned, but I think it may just be dry skin. I lathered him in lotion and will see how it does. I really don't think it's anything else.

I had a retreat this past weekend which was great as usual. I finished our 2005 family album. So yes, I still have a long way to go to get caught up. So I doubt that will ever happen. I took Simon to his Pinewood Derby race with scouts on Friday night while Mike took Sydnee to her Daddy Date Night with her scouts. She built a time capsule which turned out very nice. Simon got 6th place, and got very upset. He doesn't understand that only one person can get first. When he realized he wasn't first, he was very upset. Then he blames it on everyone he can. That is so hard for me to see him get like that. But he has to also learn that he won't always be first. He had a great time until he realized he wasn't the winner.
