On our way home, we stopped by a farm next to us where they have 3 horses. We pass it all the time. I have been wanting to get some little nuggets to use for my gardens. The owner gave us permission to pick all we wanted. So the kids and I went to work filling 5 - 5 gallon buckets of wonderful "manure". Yep you heard it right. We picked up horse poop. They didn't complain one bit. We got all buckets filled and then played a little with the horses. The kids got real comfortable with them. They were a bit timid in the beginning.

This is what the kids learned to look for in the field. A gloved hand can collect quite a few.
After we were done, Sydnee sat down under the shade trees where the horses feed.
Simon decided to join Sydnee for a rest.

Sydnee and Simon carrying their loads of collected "poop".

Sydnee made friends with the horse.

Now it's Simon's turn
This horse decided to nudge Sydnee while he was eating. It didn't take much to knock her off her feet.

This one was just cute. None of them minded me getting right up in their face for a photo.

Now it's time to get ready for tomorrow. We are going to have the kids birthday party and a cookout for family and friends. They are getting excited. We worked in the yard all afternoon. I pulled weeds, burned limbs, etc. Now we all stink and it's time to clean up and get to bed.
Angela and Megan (kids cousins) want to take the kids to the zoo in the morning. That will be a big help to me too. I will be able to get ready tomorrow without things being reversed everytime I get something done. The lady making the cakes this time is delivering at 2:00 PM. Otherwise all I need to do is get the house straightened up.
I think we have around 50 people coming tomorrow. Some of their classmates are coming.
