Update on kiddo's

We got the results of the Chromosome tests today. Both are normal. YEAH!!!! The Fragile X is still pending and will probably be another week.

We saw Dr. Parkins today for the Parent Child Interaction Therapy. We were there for 2 hours. I went with Sydnee and we did a "special playtime" where she basically directs the play. I'm not supposed to ask question, but to praise her and tell her what you are observing. Something like "Oh, Sydnee I see you are building the tower with white blocks" Instead of asking her what color would you like to use. I say something like "I wonder what color you would like to use next. OR I wonder if I could help separate the legos for you. It's very hard to not ask questions. But she loved the time of one on one. I am supposed to do this 2-3 times a week and Mike the same with Simon.

Then on our way home, they did well. It was after dropping Mike off to work. I needed to stop at the craft store and camera store. They couldn't have acted up any more than the did. So they weren't happy when they realized they weren't getting Chic Fil A ice cream when we were done. As a matter of fact they were horrified that I would do such a thing. But instead of fussing at them over and over in the car, I waited until we got back in the car after the errands were done. When they asked why. I just told them like it was. Calling Mom names, hitting each other, screaming, etc wasn't appropriate and they knew it was wrong when they did it, but they made that choice. When you act like that, you don't get rewards. Simple as that. But I wasn't worn out from hollering at them to stop.

Tomorrow they have reading lab at school in the morning and Simon has OT in the afternoon.
