What a wonderful Saturday!

Yesterday I was pretty tired, but had gotten to bed way too late to do much in the morning. Then it dawned on me that I needed to go to the quilt store for a monthly kit I signed up for. Of course the kids had to go too since Mike is working. I got there and ended up being there for 4 hours looking and talking to everyone I know who came. My praise for the day is....the kids were angels. Yes I mean a true sense of the word. Simon watched their TV where he found a bible channel. Sydnee passed out chocolate chip muffins to customers with Scott. When we were getting ready to leave Scott told both of them that they are welcome in that store anytime. Wow! So in the end I took the kids to lunch and they felt so good about how they were. Even the customers kept commenting on how well mannered they were. What an accomplishment! Now today they are making up for it. Lots of running and yelling. UUUggghhhhh!

I got up this morning thinking I was going to work on the house. I have a ton of Christmas boxes to go through. I had decided it was time to eliminate many of the things I don't use or need. I also decided I would get rid of all of the holiday serving dishes that were made in China. Too many issues with China for me. Well, there were a lot of things gotten rid of. It's just a personal choice of mine. I decided that when the time comes that I need something like that I will go to Bybee or somwhere local and get something else. Then there are the clothes of mine and the kids.....can't wear it! Our of here! So now you can actually walk downstairs. The path is much wider. I also now have empty containers to actually store stuff in again.

The lady who came by to pick up all of this stuff taught me something. I thought it was very clever. A patient of hers gave her a small gift. It was a frog. He asked her if she knew what FROG meant. It means....Forever Rely On God. How neat is that! Just something to think about.

I finished downstairs and made lunch, ate, and then Sydnee walked into her room. Simon was watching a movie. I went in the bathroom to find a nice surprise on the floor. Yes, very disgusting in my eyes. I called Sydnee's name (can you tell I already knew where it came from)? She came in and cleaned up the mess. Then she just leaned her head on the counter. She said "mom, can we get my hair cut?" I of course said "we'll see". Wasn't quite sure what was up. But the whole time she had managed to keep her head down. Well to my wondering eyes did appear? A little girl with a hair cut to her ear. Oh yes, she cut one side just below her ear, and her bangs are nearly gone. Less than 1" long. She just started crying. She told me she was tired of messing with her hair and wanted it cut. She finally showed me where the hair was. She had gotten cuticle scissors out of my bathroom cabinet (yes they were put away high and in a closed cabinet in a little box). She said she went in there looking for them with the idea of cutting her hair. So it was pre-meditated. This one I am afraid isn't one that will be able to be corrected easily.

Below is a picture of a child who loves her moon shoes. She will walk and jump around the house for hours in these. And the outfits she wears at times cracks me up. This gown is one she has had since age 4. It was a long gown, but because she is so thin, it still fits with the exception of getting shorter and shorter. She can get over 1 1/2 feet high with these things. They do get a bit noisy, but she loves them.
